Startup Disk Creator doesn't work in guest session

Bug Description

usb-creator-gtk 0.2.34, Ubuntu 11.10

1. Start a guest session.
2. Try to use Startup Disk Creator on a USB key.

What happens: An "Installation Failed" alert appears. "An uncaught exception was raised: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/tmp/tmpdMygVO'"

What should happen: It works.

Yeah, you should get a root password request and it should just work.

There are some particularities to running such a privileged app in the guest session, it undoubtly needs a bit of work.

Maybe we can modify the policykit rule to allow the guest user to allow guest user to run the privileged operation, however would this cause potential security issue?

My problem is usb-creator doesn't work in Kubuntu 18.10. It fails to select the.iso file. Actually this problem is the same in the gnome version running on Kubuntu. Actually the two versions look very much the same, and have the same fault, which is it's impossible to create a USB stick with a distribution on it.
