Bug Description

Binary package hint: usb-creator

Using Startup Disk Creater I can successfully create a bootable USB stick using one of the ubuntu desktop cd's. The USB stick boots fine and the installer does it's think. The problem comes in when I use one of the Ubuntu Alternate ISO images. It again creates the bootable USB stick without problems. But when I boot from the USB stick, I don't see the normal installer menu, it gives some gfxmenu error and shows a syslinux prompt. I pressed the TAB key and it gave me a small list of commands it supports. I typed 'mainmenu', but that failed. I then typed 'install', and that seems to have worked, and the installer continued normally from the USB stick.

So it seems that using the Ubuntu Alternate ISO images as source for the "Startup Disk Creator" needs some tweaking to correctly start the ubuntu installer when booting from that USB stick.
