Bug Description

Binary package hint: usb-creator

I have a dual layer optical drive with a DVD in it.
I had a blank 4-GB Sandisk Cruzer.
When I fire up usb creator, I see that it chooses the optical drive as the source by default. I browse to a Ubuntu ISO (which I have used successfully) and select it.

I still get an error that "image is too large".

I then unmounted/ejected the optical drive. Started up usb creator again - this time, I have no problems creating a startup disk successfully.

Exactly the same problem here.

The optical drive was mounted and contained files that were bigger than the USB stick.

For me it didn't even help to eject the DVD, usb-creator still insisted in using my (now empty) DVD drive!

This happenend on an installation of Oneiric Beta 2 amd64, on Natty I didn't see this problem so far (was my drive always empty when I used usb-creator in Natty? I'll check.).
