I wonder if this is because I'm missing some gtk libraries or something due to it being done on Kubuntu?

usb-creator currently requires gksu to escalate privileges. (This is a bug.)

Anyone have any idea how long this USB KEy install bug will be fixed inorder to install and run a live USB install of 8.10 ?

i have the same problem in karmic.

I tried running it with gksu also, all the same.
