Not that familiar with KDE Neon, but could you check which version of usb-creator-kde you are running? Looks like this might be a duplicate of bug 1906939 which should be fixed in 0.3.10.

Yes, the version I try to run is 0.3.7 and apt says is the most recent version in repositories (KDE Neon is based on Ubuntu repositories).

How could I get something newer?

I have downloaded and installed from this page usb-creator-common 0.3.10 and usb-creator-kde 0.3.10 and the issue is solved.
