Bug Description
The "Startup Disk Creator" aka "usb-creator-gtk" often crashes when making a bootable USB disk. I encounter the crashes shortly after giving permission to install the boot-loader. I guess it happens somewhere between installing the boot-loader and creating the ext2 filesystem.
To reproduce:
just download an Ubuntu image and install it onto a USB-drive using the the usb-creator. Some of the attempts may result in a crash, sometimes leaving you with a working disk, but often it's not possible to boot it correctly. For me it's something around 40 % of the installations which fail. (I need to make many USB disks as I'm helping people to install Ubuntu and it's just easier and environmental better to use USB drives instead of CDs).
This problem exists in Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10 and 13.04 ("alpha"). Tested on different hardware.
