Bug Description

The USB-Creator GUI seemed to go through most of the steps OK - at the end it popped up an authentication window requesting permission to install the bootloader on the USB. I entered my password and shortly after this the USB-Creator application crashed.

Please note that the ISO I selected to be installed on the USB drive was a freshly downloaded ubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.iso

I subsequently tried running the program as root via the following command:
gksudo usb-creator-gtk

However the result was essentially the same: the progress bar gets to 40%, starts installing the bootloader, shows a slidy side-to-side bar for about 2 minutes, then crashes without showing any detailed error message.
