Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 dev with upstart 1.9.1-0ubuntu2 and for a few days I'm seeing these lines every time on booting:

sworddragon@ubuntu:~$ dmesg | grep upstart
[ 14.113577] init: upstart-dbus-bridge main process (248) terminated with status 1
[ 14.113655] init: upstart-dbus-bridge main process ended, respawning

affects more than one person....I too have same problem. I can only log in as root from recovery boot and 1)start network 2) drop to root 3: startx ( after creating a ".xinitrc" file with "/usr/bin/startxfce4" in it )
distro: xubuntu saucey on a older gateway laptop

@Sworddragon - Thanks for reporting. This is in fact an innocuous message: the upstart-dbus-bridge should not run at the system level. The next update will remove the .conf file to make this message go away.

@r0tter77: this problem has nothing to do with the behaviour you describe. Please raise a new bug on xubuntu providing as many details as you can. However, I wonder if the problem you describe is actually bug 1203711?

xnox - could you take a look at establishing why upstart.maintscript isn't doing what it should?
