Bug Description

Logfiles in /var/log/upstart are only readable by root. They should be readable by members of the 'adm' group, like most other logfiles.

Some admins are typing "sudo bash" because it's inconvenient to have to sudo to look at each log file. This is pretty annoying, what does it take to get this fixed?

Isn't this a trivial problem to resolve?

sudo chgrp adm /var/log/upstart /var/log/upstart/*
sudo chmod g+s /var/log/upstart

Surely such a trivial filesystem layout issue can't be stuck for years here?
