Bug Description
12.04 amd64 Race Condition
Every time i get the fsck progress indicator on the bootsplash, everything is mounted ro. This results to /home, all later mounted devices like windows partitions and usb drives. I have to reboot to correct this behaviour.
Suggested idea: Upstart has to wait until fsck is ready and then go on. OR the fsck will b e placed at shutdown, there it can run without disturbance.

Hi Eric - thanks for reporting this issue. However, something seems amiss on your system since the system should wait until fsck finishes.
Please can you attach the file /var/log/boot.log from such a boot as it might give an indication as to what is going wrong. It sounds like either your disk is failing (such that FSCK is unable to repair the damage completely), or you have one more more jobs that are interfering with the normal boot process.
