Laptop suspends automatically while on AC, despite "Don't suspend" setting

Bug Description
This started a couple of days ago. Ubuntu 11.10, pretty recently updated. When I leave the laptop on AC it suspends after about half an hour of inactivity, although "Power Settings..."/"When plugged in" is set to "Don't suspend".
