Binary package hint: update-notifier

upgraded some packages....not sure which

error happened upon startup of the desktop.....as in where i could see the notification bar

i didnt do anything...to make it happen.

it set offf some other errors too...

Thanks for your bugreport.

This problem should be fixed in gutsy. We switch to the new GtkStatusIcon to show the icon and that makes the old code (that used EggTrayIcon and GtkImage) go away. Please reopen if you experience this in gutsy again.

I am installing Xubuntu Gutsy beta release.
Installation went (almost) well; got error messages about broken packages but installation completed anyway.
After logging in as root (I had logged in as user a few times) the updater crashed. Don't know what happened (I'm still novice at Linux).
