Various bugs in the update-notifier packae

Bug #21748 reported by Philip Van Hoof on 2005-09-15

Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
update-notifier (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

- It doesn't depend on HAL, yet without HAL it crashes
- It doesn't depend on notification-daemon, yet without it it doesn't start
(dbus errors)
- It wasn't activated after upgrading hoary to breezy (I would have expected it
becomes activated since this is an important service)

Thanks, both dependencies are added in my development tree.

Sorry, this is not possible. Gnome has no mechanism to add application to a user
session when he already has one. Update-notifier is part of the default session
(so new users will get it).

Cheers,
 Michael
