This issue causes the "System program problem detected" dialogue on every boot up on my end, similar to bugs #794757 and #95727. Checking the syslog after a boot up or killing and launching update-notifier via Terminal reveals the same Gtk-Message.

It has started appearing very recently (after 20.04.1 release), which leads me to believe that it is preventing my system from recognizing the new version to upgrade to.

Removing the latest .crash log, which was produced by gnome-shell in my case, fixed the issue. No dialogue pops up on boot up.
