Upgrade hung for about an hour, i've used kill to stop a process (something like "download data") and the update was completed (but with errors).

package-data-do hung overnight, not surprisingly, while downloading the adobe crash , er, flash plugin. I ps -A to get the id of packa-data-do and then sudo kill xxxxx
