Partial Upgrade from 10.04 to 12.X fails with error in update-manager-kde

Bug Description

I did a upgrade from 10.04 to 12.x during which power went off. later when I started the partial upgrade, iit gave me error in update-manager-kde. I am no master of linux and I am stuck since i am now unable to install any software from Ubuntu Software Center. Help!
