[SOLVED] Upgrade 11.04 to 11.10 get "Invalid package information"

[Vortex]

Used Update Manager(GUI) to upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10
It goes through the first set of downloads then pops up with this error:

After your package information was updated the essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore.
This indicates a serious error, please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bug report.

There are a lot of files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/. These are the logs from the root of that folder. Although there are dated directories in there with log files, the log files for the date of the upgrade look to be the same as the ones in the root of "/dist-upgrade/": (note: there are two tar.gz files in the root, but I don't see a way to attach them here.)

Try to change the software source to Main Server (for instance at Ubuntu Software Center) and try the upgrade again, some users report that this solves their problem.
