Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
When upgrading i'm getting the following error:
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResol
caused by held packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

Hello, 10x for your interest. I don't have x-swat. Should I install it? If yes what to do after the installation?

Actually, you should not have it. Lets see two things:
1) Files from /var/log/
2) Files from within /etc/apt/
Thanks.
Note: I am editing the description because that data will be included in one of the files you will be attaching.

I hope this is enough, i have more files under /etc/apt/
Also i have tried to upgrade several times so I hope the logs are correlated. In any case i always get the same error so.
BTW the system is a dell latitude 5520 - Intel i5 8G.

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately I will be away again until Sunday July 3rd. Please do the following and I will be sure to check up on this again when I return.
1) Post the output of:
apt-cache policy xserver-
2) Try the upgrade again and when it fails, attach the apt.log and main.log from under the directory /var/log/
Thanks.

Thanks for the requested info. Try this,
1) sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg
2) Try the upgrade process again.
3) sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg

It seems you did have a PPA in use at one point. The unofficial packages are what's causing the upgrade to fail.

This needs to be removed along with its packages. Consider using the tool 'ppa-purge' to do this. (You may need to install it.) The proper use of the command would be:
sudo ppa-purge ppa:ubuntu-

You have a few unofficial sources it seems. Try running these commands to clean the system:
sudo ppa-purge ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
sudo ppa-purge ppa:linux/chrome
Take note if the purge for chrome works or not.
