Bug Description

WORKAROUND: Open the Terminal and type sudo apt-get update

Binary package hint: update-manager

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10

2) apt-cache policy update-manager
update-manager:
  Installed: 1:0.142.20
  Candidate: 1:0.142.20
  Version table:
 *** 1:0.142.20 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1:0.142.19 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages

3) What is expected to happen is when one opens Update Manager then clicks the Install Updates button all the updates are installed with no problem.

4) What happened instead is I got a prompt noting:

 "Requires installation of untrusted packages
The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources.
ibus ibus-gtk libibus2 python-ibus tomboy ttf-mscorefonts-installer"

with no opportunity in the GUI prompt to trust the unauthenticated sources.

Quick update, performing at the Terminal:

sudo apt-get update

usually preempts the result of this problem. It would be nice to have this done automatically as part of the GUI install process or whatever else can be done to fix the cause of this problem.
