Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
update-manager hangs during/after applying updates in natty.
Unable to attach gdb to the process for backtrace, as gdb hangs too when I try.

I also have this symptom (Xubuntu Natty Alpha 1). Updating is currently not possible with the Update Manager; apt-get update and apt-get upgrad work fine, however.
Specially mean: Apport does not report the crashes of Update Manager because - naturally - there are always outdated packages. There's already an (old) bug report. See #397519
