Bug Description
i did an upgrade from lucid to maverick using do-release-upgrade.
the process didn't went fine at all:
during setting up the packages when user interaction was required i noticed that the keyboard didn't work properly anymore.
shortcuts not involving letter-keys were fine, but i wasn't able to enter my choice what to do to the changed config file: /etc/update-
i logged in with SSH and killed dpkg. thats's where apt-term.log ends.
i resumed the install with: dpkg --configure -a
afterwards i checked for any outstanding packages using aptitude, which removed a bunch of unused packages (see aptitude.log)
rebooting the system and selecting the newly installed maverick kernel 2.6.35-22-generic the screen kept blank.
after powering off/on i gave the old lucid kernel 2.6.32-25-generic and everything booted as expected.
i don't know if the keyboard and the kernel problem are related, but i ran lucid on this macbook for quite a while and it went ok.
the trouble with the keyboard never showed before.
