Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Strangely, the new Ubuntu Extras repository has been added to the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat sources.list by default, yet the repository key has not been imported. When refreshing I get the following :
"W: GPG error: http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 16126D3A3E5C1192"

To fix it, run the following command:

  sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 3E5C1192

Just came across with this same issue after upgrading one 64bit HP laptop from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10.

The above fix did correct the problem, but I just thought to write to underline (for the guys like me) that one has to run the fix according to the error message. Thus the above mentioned fix isn't automatically right for everybody.

So if the error is....
......GPG error: http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 16126D3AXXXXXXXX"

Then the fix is to run the following command.....
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys XXXXXXXX

One has to pick the Xs to the command from the end of the error message.
