Don,
Install the libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio and ubuntu-desktop packages and then attempt the upgrade again.

Hi Bilal,

This did not work.

I installed libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio, the system automatically removed libsdl1.2debian-alsa.

ubuntu-desktop was already marked as installed. I did a reinstall of it in synaptic.

Reran the upgrade, same error message.

Even rebooted and logged into Gnome instead of KDE, same result.

Is there more logfiles that would help?

Thanks,

Don
