Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
The latest updates have given this error after trying the offered partial upgrade.
After killing that process, I hit a lock
tony@lucid:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

If an APT front-end crashed and your database is locked, try this in a terminal:
sudo fuser -vki /var/lib/dpkg/lock; sudo dpkg --configure -a
