Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Lucid alpha1 server ISO testing. A superfluous and annoying message is displayed on login:

ubuntu login: ubuntu
run-parts: /etc/update-motd.d/91-release-upgrade exited with return code 1
Linux ubuntu...

This is because /etc/update-motd.d/91-release-upgrade returns 1 when there is nothing to upgrade to. If there is no side-effect, it should be fixed to return 0 in all "normal" cases. Other solution is for update-motd to catch run-parts error output.

Chuck, can you please propose a fix and bring it to the attention of the foundations team?

That way they can make sure it doesn't break anything else.
