Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
While performing a Intrepid to Jaunty upgrade, the upgrade-manager just told me :
'Not enough free disk space'
Well : I KNOW - my root partition is filled up ! for previous upgrades, in the past years, I transformed /var/lib/dpkg and /var/lib/apt into symbolic links onto another partition on which I have enough space : I know that Ubuntu aims to non-IT specialists, but well, couldn't you be IT specialist-

Thanks for your bugreport.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add the log files from '/var/log/ dist-upgrade/ ' to this bugreport as attachments to your bug report? Thanks in advance.
Its quite possible that u-m is right here, in addition to /var/lib/dpkg and /var/lib/apt it requires space in /var/cache/ apt/archives to download the deb content. But the logs will have enough information to judge if its a bug in u-m or a legimatiate space problem.
