Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I can do a quick search in the Synaptic package manager. However then I can not interact with the packets-managing widgets nor panel.

The autotomatic update manager window I can press update and it seemingly does however I can then not close the window, the update manager seems to likewise get unresponsive and no further interaction can be done, meanwhile the mouse icon changes to busy in that window and I am forced to be kill the update-manager through the console.

Using Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty Jackalope:
Linux lordmetroid-laptop 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Thanks for yoru bugreport.

Does it show anything in the terminal window if you start it from a terminal window?

However I had no problem closing the update-manager, this time it responded as expected.

Maybe it was the separate download and installation dialog that was completed but inaccessible.
