Update manager keeps trying to download files already installed

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I upgraded from 8.10 some days ago. But I realized that every time APPORT tries to report a failure or crash, it is unable to do it due to the presence of incompatible packages.

When I run Update manager, it shows a big list of files to install/upgrade, but these files are already installed on my system.

I made a full upgrade (as Update manager requested) some days ago, but even after that upgrade, update manager still instructs me to download a great number of files (228.5 MiB right now).

Thanks in advance

  • apt-upgrade.txt Edit (41.8 KiB, text/plain; format=flowed; name="apt-upgrade.txt"; reply-type=original)

Hello Michael,

The requested file is attached. It is a portuguese-br version (as I just
installed the portuguese support on my Jaunty instalation), but I think you
should be able to extract the important data.

Please, let me know if you need further information or an english version of
the file.
