Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

When the partition / becomes full during the upgrade, update-manager does not advice the user to free space but simply stops working. A novice user would think that an upgrade is not possible. After freeing space the upgrade continues

What version of ubuntu are you using? When this happend to you, was it a full upgrade (e.g. 8.10 -> 9.04) or a normal update? We have code in jaunty (9.04) that should do a free space check. If that does not work for you, I would be interessted in the details.

I was using Intrepid and did a full updgrade to Jaunty yesterday. The code checks the free space at the beginning of the process. I had enouth space first, then the space filled up with the unpacking of the packages during the upgrade process.
