Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. update-manger had changed a fair bit in Jaunty is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

I just had it happen here with update-manager 1:0.99. The only 'unusual' thing was that I wasn't connected to the internet.
