Synopsis: can't update from ubuntu 6.06 TLS to 8.04 TLS

Description:
Description of Problem:
update-manger start normally every thing seems right until it says that it can't update and crashes with an error.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. run update-manger -c -d
2. click on the upgrade to 8.04 TLS button

Actual Results:
Crash with error

Expected Results:
upgrade to 8.04 TLS

The command returns nothing :

It looks like its releated to xchat, I wonder if removing xchat before the ugprade would yelp (also I guess this answer comes way too late :(
