I just tried this but I keep getting bzip2 integrity errors, for example, when doing "sudo apt-get update" I get this:

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover

I've tried to change the repository I'm downloading from but I get the same errors (even the "Reload" option in synaptic throws errors)
I'm starting to think it's a network card failure because my other PC (intel core duo) is working fine.
