Update Manager crashes after selecting check for updates

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

after clicking check for updates,i enter my password and then d package download windows opens but dosent hangs. i'm using Intrepid.

i've attached a screenshot showing d problem.Thanx 4 replying n i hope u'll fix dis 4 me.

P.S. Once it hangs i can't close it without running Xkill in Alt+F2 n clicking on force quit, after which if i try running it again it'll tell me some other synaptic manager is running in non-interactive mode,n i should end dat 1st.Checking system monitor shows no such app running in d background n i have 2 restart my system 2 continue usage.Hope dis helps,if u need any more info,pls ask i'll supply.
