Unable to install Intrepid beta (8.10) on a HP Pavillion Notebook

Bug Description
I was unable (on thursday, october 2) to upgrade from ubunto 8.04 to
Intrepid beta (8.10) on a HP Pavillion notebook dv6921a Notebook with AMD Turion64x2, but installing 32 bit os. At the very end of the upgrade process, the update manager breaks with message: Unable to update update manager, and when trying to boot, that is impossible, with error message: No devices found. Neither was it possible to boot from liveCD.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I'm no clearly exactly what the situation is. Are you unable to boot your system and from the Live CD? If so how did you obtain the output of 'lspci'? Thanks in advance.
