Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

/var/cache/apt/archives/mozilla-firefox-locale-de-de_2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu4_all.deb konnte nicht installiert werden (translates as "could not be installed")

defektes Tar-Dateisystem - Paketarchiv ist defekt (translates as damaged tar file system - package archive is damaged).

This happened during online update from Kubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 (AMD64).

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Could you please attach the log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade so we can get some more complete information on what caused this problem

If this is the same upgrade as bug 224529 then we can continue in that thread. I'll mark this one as a duplicate just so we don't lose the information
