Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Testing the CD-ROM upgrade from gutsy2feisty on ubuntu. All test were conducted in a Virtualbox VM starting from a fully updated gutsy install.
I have tested both yesterdays daily CD (20080415)and todays daily DVD (20080416). Both give identical results.
The CD test was conducted from a .iso file sitting on my hard drive, the DVD was a physical disk being read trough the DVD drive

In both cases I had to start the upgrade from the commandline with the command
gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"

Update manager starts. It offers me a I dialogue asking if I want to download the latest upgrades from the internet. I get the same result regardless of whether I choose yes or no here. Update manager proceeds for a while then fails with "Could not calculate the upgrade".
/var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log contains the following and not much else. Full logs are attached, term.log is empty

Thanks for your bugreport.

This seem to work in my testsystem (VM with a stock gutsy install). I tested both the dvd and the alternative CD from today.

status: New → Incomplete

I get the bug with todays daily alternate daily CD (20080416) as well. I am currently building a new VM in case it's a problem with my test set up.

I was unable to reproduce this with a new gutsy VM and CD 20080416. Closing bug
