Error - Votre système est à jour

Binary package hint: update-manager

For the second time in one week, I've been invited by the adept-updater to upgrade my installed Gupsy ubuntu 7.10 distribution.
The process looks to happen without any problem but, the it finishes with an ambiguous Error message (in French):

Votre système est à jour
Aucune mise à jour n'est disponible pour votre système.
La mise à jour va maintenant être annulée.

What should I understand ?
If the system is up to date, why to propose to upgrade it ?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
