Update Manager rereads database after installing updates

Bug Description

When an update is complete, update manager runs through the whole database once again. This is more or less time consuming. I usually want to quit emidiately and not wait for it to tell me what should be obvious - that there are no new updates.

Still the case with update-manager 0.125.2 in karmic (u-m popping into foreground when it opens a new progress window which requires no user interaction whatsoever).
This is *extremely* annoying as it interrupts the users work, especially because u-m normally opens in the middle of the screen where it is very likely to be in the way if it is not moved somewhere else beforehand.

Thanks for your bugreport.

I can no longer reproduce this in karmic, when I click on "install updates" a policykit dialog comes up, asks me for authentication and when I then send it to the background it stays there. This is with the "aptdaemon" package installed (that is default in karmic).

Confirmed, it stays in the background here as well since aptdaemon is being used. Many thanks :)

Please report one bug per bug report. The first annoyance is a duplicate of bug 35876.
