Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
Running a partial dist upgrade today on hardy, I noticed that in the text 'Änderungen anwenden' (Apply changes) the character 'Ä' is not displayed correctly. Instead, it shows an 'Ä' and some symbol.
This text is shown below the progress bar.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

We'd like to figure out what's causing this bug for you, but we haven't heard back from you in a while. Could you please provide the requested information? Thanks!

Seems I forgot to answer. I do not have an Ubuntu installation at the moment, and I would also need to run a partial dist upgrade in order to be able to reproduce this bug.
I would prefer to have this bug marked as 'incomplete' until I have some time to check, and if not fixed, to fix it. (Else it would not be listed on my bug list, and I forget about it).
Please give me about ~2 months, as I'm busy now. If this bug still exists, I will provide a patch, if not, I will mark it as 'fix released'.
