Conny,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. In order to help us track down the cause of the problem could you please attach the logfiles from /var/log/dist-upgrade. Could you also describe the steps you took when the error occurred. Were you installing regular updates or were you trying to upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04?

thanks,
Rich

This comes up on EVERY 7.10 update (after a new install). So it says, "new updates avaliable", then you start the update process. It will fail nearly ~45% at the qt3 package, and you have to finish it in a terminal. Just type sudo apt-get upgrade (and it will continue) and then press Y to accept the maintainer package.

So. This is occuring on a single update (on i386 + amd64 too), not when you upgrade to 8.04 (I don't tried this method).

If you want, I will attach the log tomorrow. (Cause I can't access my pc from here)

Thanks for your bugreporrt.

Do you use update-manager (gtk) or adept (qt) when this happens? If you use the former, there should be some information in /var/log/apt/term.log about the problem, please include that in the bugreport so that we get a better idea what actually goes wrong.

Thanks,
 Michael

Hello Rich,

unfortunately I reinstalled 7.10 due to rearranging my partitions on the
hard disk, therefor the log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade are missing.

It was a regular update not an upgrade and I solved the problem by "sudo
apt-get install libqt3-mt" and answering with Y in a terminal.

regards Conny

Hi Conny,

thanks for responding. We can't really track down the problem after a reinstall so I'm going to close this report. Feel free to report any further bugs you may find.
