Bug Description

Both my Virtual Mcahine were working correctly.
I had not used Virtualbox for a few days, but the system had done one or more upgrades.
On starting a VM, Virtualbox reported "Thew installed support driver doesn't match the version of the user."

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug.

I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

@Chris Guiverc thank you for your recommendations and, yes, I am aware of these sites and, no, I did not find a recognition of this problem and, no, I did not find a solution either.
The problem is, of course, twofold.
Firstly there is the situation that my VMs won't run, but
secondly, there is the situation that the Software Updater failed to prevent that (first) situation.
Basically, I am alleging that the Software Update team has not done their job properly.
