Bug Description
Hello! This is about an up-to-date Hardy.
I while ago I installed a custom package of Compiz, created from the Ubuntu sources with a couple minor changes. This worked very well, with one problem:
When a new version of Compiz was released today on the Ubuntu repository, update-manager showed the update in the "Other" section instead of where all other updates were shown. It also told me no changelog was available, although I know there was one. (There was one available for the other packages released at the same time, from the same source. I downloaded the new source with 'apt-get source' and the changelog did show the same change as on the other libraries.) The update was correctly installed (and I checked, it was downloaded from the normal hardy repository).
Any idea where I can look for clues?
(The custom package was installed with 'dpkg -i', and it worked correctly.)
This sounds like a version number conflict. Does the problem still exist. If so could you provide the following information.
What version number did you use for your custom package?
What version number was given by the repository package that didn't work?
