Bug Description
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and I have automatic security
updates turned on. When I recently logged in, the
system immediately told me to restart my computer.
If the system needs restarting while I'm at the login
screen, I'd like to know about that before I log in.

I noticed that it takes quite long before I can get myself to
actually restart my system. I tend to constantly have
something under works, which effectively prevents me from
restarting my system. I wonder, if the bug should be
changed to a security vulnerability as it clearly prolongs the
time my system is open to attacks.
