Bug Description
While automatic (security) updates are enabled, I tried the update-manager after a reboot and all seems well.
Tried the check button... 37 updates found. Then tried to install and the update manager cryptically says that he is not able to while he has no acces to a file or something.
I thought of that was like running synaptic and update-manager together, but then you get a descriptive error of running synaptic twice.
The problem resolved itself when after a few minutes the update-manager-icon in the tray reported there were new updates to install (which I knew but could not install at first)
things to suggest:
* block or stop the automatic-update procedure when update-manager is started or prohibit starting the update-manager while auto-update is running
* change the error-message to describe what is happening
This bug is about the Ubuntu package of update-manager and not the update-manager project in general. Subsequently, I am closing the upstream update-manager task as Invalid and will open an Ubuntu update-manager task for you.
