Bug Description

The updater reported that 7.10 was available for download, I have currently 7.04 on the machine, it downloaded the packets, then reported that download, or update failed, possible due to internet problem. This does not make much since to me, since all other updates, and installed programs downloaded and updated/installed fine, through the update manager, add software, and the packet program.

I did find some wiered problems with the way the router was behaving toward the machine, but the diagnostics I was able to perform on the machine reported no problems with the nic.

I don't have it connected to internet currently, will at some point in the future connect it to internet, at church, to attempt to install all new fixes/updates, and even 7.10.

Thanks for your report. Have you attempted to upgrade again? If so please post how it went so that we can figure out if the issue was your internet connection or a bug in the update process. If there is an error again please try to paste the whole error message into the comments of this bug report.

I will be attempting to upgrade that computer tomorrow some time, I
will post a reply to this message with the results.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
