Produced an error popup and apport crash for each package in a failed dependency chain

Binary package hint: update-manager

As noted in bug 165161, I had errors during my upgrade due to update-manager failing to upgrade. As expected, this produced an error message and apport crash report for update-manager. However, it also caused them for update-notifier and ubuntu-desktop, which depend on update-manager and therefore failed to upgrade.

The additional crash reports should be suppressed if possible. Ideally, a single error dialog would be displayed as well.

I think this may have been fixed by:

update-manager (1:0.91.7) intrepid; urgency=low
[...]
  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgradeView{Gtk,KDE}.py:
    - do not show a error dialog for folloup errors from
      earlier errors (thanks to Alexander Sack for the report)
