I am not quite sure the division of labor between aptdaemon and update-manager...
In other words, if aptdaemon is not going to be updated, then presumably something
else will be needed to fulfill the complete function of "Software Updater"/update-manager.
What would replace aptdaemon when running "Software Updater"/update-manager,
such that viewing the download and install of packages could be viewed and hopefully
also cut-n-pasted (or auto log file, or ... ?)
