Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Ran dist upgrade to 7.10 through upgrade manager. Upgrade failed during install. Warnings about failed packages during the install, but no decent information returned about what went wrong. Finally, upgrade process failed outright with:

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-386

The relevant error was:
Setting up ubuntu-keyring (2007.06.11) ...
gpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/libreadline.so.5: undefined symbol: BC
gpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/libreadline.so.5: undefined symbol: BC
dpkg: error processing ubuntu-keyring (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 127

I'm closing this report because it was caused by a locally installed version of libreadline5. Don't hesitate to submit any new bug.
