Bug Description

Upgrade from feisty to gusty presently, but I always have this problem when I upgrade Ubuntu (e.g. when I went to feisty).

After the upgrade, synaptic can no longer find the valid, relevant authentication keys to verify new packages for installation. Last time, I got lucky with a web search and found some to install. Why can't the upgrade just grab them automatically or why not put a nice BIG LINK on the main ubuntu pages where to get these keys!

I get exactly the same problem on two machines on my network. Others have upgraded with no problems. I have verified there are no third party repositories listed and also that only the standard two ubuntu GPG authentication keys are registered.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I did some more web-searching on the issue and found
the name of the process that was hanging in this case. It turned
out to be a messy work-around, but I was able to force the upgrade
to take. It was somehow out of sequence and killing the process
allowed me to get to a state where something else that was needed
was upgraded first. I'm sorry I don't recall (and didn't report) the
details.
