Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

==== Error message ====

update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic
dpkg: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

IOError: [Errno 9] Bad file descrptor
========

==== Analysis ====
/boot filled up on Feisty -> Gutsy upgrade.
Would have been better to know that there was insufficient space prior to downloading the upgrade!
========

==== Remedy ====
Looks like I have to expand /boot, then restart the installation. I will try to find apt-get commands that will support an upgrade-resume.

There is a check for the free space in /boot. It seems to have failed for you, please attach the logs so that I can try to analyze what went wrong.

Thanks,
 Michael

Attached are the files from /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in gzip format (cat * |gzip >dist-upgrade-output.gz)
They may not be useful to you. I was not able to recover after the upgrade, and I reinstalled Feisty and performed a fresh upgrade. The output files will be the result of that second, successful upgrade attempt.
